I like rainy days

I like rainy days

Because I can play with paper boats

Because I can jump in puddles

Dribble, dribble, sploosh!
Grab your boots, your coat, and hat,
Jump in a puddle and go kersplat! Photo and poem by Beyond the Dog Dish

Because without rain we wouldn’t have flowers

Because without rain we wouldn’t have rainbows (and double rainbows)

OK.  Not quite. We could still create rainbows using a prism.  But with rain and a bit of sunshine, we get beautiful, big, spontaneous ones.

Because rain has a cleansing effect

Everything looks better after a good rain shower

And finally, because Gene Kelly says so

Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain
I’ve a smile on my face

    SSG…
Rainy days… Ambivalent about them… I like a hot rainy day, the ones that clear quickly, you know, where the sun still peaks… Fall rainy days, only when you’re in love, under the sheets with your partner, and you don’t have to go anywhere…

I understand. Most people feel that way.

I love all kinds of rainy days. On Fall rainy days, I love to cuddle with my cat, with a nice cup of tea and a book or a movie. On Spring rainy days, I love to put my raincoat, rain boots and rain hat and go have fun in the rain. So playful.

But most of all, I love the feeling of renewal I get with the rain. Cleansing, rejuvenating, invigorating. I always feel like a flower or a tree must feel when it rains. Water is life :)

You make a good a good argument for rain but it’s still not better than sunshine, IMO. Think of it this way, without the sun, we wouldn’t have rain.
