Surprise Christmas present

So I know I said yesterday I was back to the studio yesterday.

Well I lied. All the classes I thought I had yesterday, were really today. So I ended up working from home instead.

But! When I got to the studio today, there was a half open package waiting for me right beside the sound system.

B thought it was promo material and opened the first layer of packaging when he realized it was for me.

There was a card. And right away I knew who it was from (I had not bothered checking the return address). A very sneaky fella, that’s who.

Yeah, that’s my foot there

Now I’m dancing and munching on Dulce de Leche Cheerios. I mean, how awesome is that?

PS: My only worry is that there won’t be any cheerios left before my daughter comes back home

Happy New Year!

Can’t say that 2012 was a good year but in all fairness, it had some really good things. Going back to dancing and training was one of them. Finding Satchie, that adorable little craziness of a cat was another. My little DC vacation, a childhood dream come true is one of the highlights of the year, for sure.

I lost some friends but I made a few others. I laughed, I cried, I dance, I ate, I saw good movies but I was also very sick for a long time. All things considered, the balance is good, I think.

Nonetheless, I can’t say I’m sad to see 2012 go. I lost more than I gained.

Thankfully, the good things are so good, that they’re enough to allow me to look back and smile. I did win a medal this year, after all. Also, I didn’t break myself this year. This is the first no-injuries year in a long time. That must count for something, right?

And I got to perform the Sailor Girls routine again. That was cool!

The Hot Tamales & Friends

Plus! I got to be part of the Canvas of the Minds family. That’s pretty cool too.

Oh, and of course, how could I forget… We all survived the Mayan Apocalypse! D’oh!

So happy New Year!

May 2013 be a good year for all of us

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW!!!

I woke up to this!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Now I don’t care I’m coughing and sneezing and my head feels like it’s going to implode any minute now. If I weren’t so sick, I’d go for a walk. No matter.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…..

Maybe this is my secret?

So, I deal with Mental Illness(es). Clinical Depression, PTSD, anxiety. However -and unless I’m going through a particularly dark period, I am a fairly cheerful person. Bubbly even*.

I have been asked several times what my secret is. I usually say it’s a combination of lucky events like a great support network of family and friends, an incredibly supporting therapist, etc.

And today, I saw this on Facebook:

I did a google search for this image trying to find the original poster so I could give credit where it’s due but found only several Facebook posts with no link or credit. If you know the source, please let me know

Epic times will ensue

Sunday! Another week ends

(or starts if you count that way)

but first – if you don’t mind,

I’ll say: Happy Canada Day!

No doubt, the SSG is happy

she gots to dance a lot

furthermore, in two more days

the prodigal son comes home.

Alas, for two weeks only

no matter, that’s enough

we shall reminisce and be merry

for what’s life, but just a luff

Hugs, dancing, food and music,

cuddly cats and a bear too

colour pencils and sketch pads

a pot of coffee or two.

Add a son and a daughter

and epic times will ensue

tight bonds strong anew

over a chocolate fondue!

The three [Colombian] Musketeers

Damn, we’re a good looking family

;)

Once There Was A Little Girl

Once there was a little girl

who dreamed of lands far far away

of snow and wolves and also bears.

The little girl, a woman she became

but her dreams, she never forgets

To the land of snow one day she came

And to the land of fjords? For sure one day.

In the mean time she revels

in all the things she loves in many levels

to sing, to dance, to jump, to whirl

cuz she IS the Summer Solstice Girl!
